E3 2014: Sony announces its equally impressive games lineup (+ even more trailers)
With Microsoft making a great impression, Sony couldn’t be left behind – and it didn’t disappoint at all.
The Playstation 4 enjoys the top spot at the moment, and Sony announced a bucketload of new games and exclusives for the platform. Here they are:
– Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept
Shadow Fall Intercept is an online co-op expansion for Killzone, which pits up to 4 players either on an elite VSA team operating behind enemy lines on a mission to intercept and relay Helghast military transmissions.
– Destiny
A new trailer was shown, and an announcement that on July 17th, the beta is coming to the platform. Players will also have access to the alpha version of the game, starting June 12th. Once the game launches on September 9, there will be a Destiny PS4 bundle as well.
– The Order: 1886
Set in a Victorian-era London, you get to use modern technology to battle an ancient foe. The game looks rvery interesting indeed.
– Entwined
This is the Cloud Atlas of games. A bird and a fish are in love, they can never be together for obvious reasons and you have to guide them through various lifetimes until they can unite their souls.
– inFamous : First Light
Coming this August, Fetch Walker is inprisoned and forced to relive her past in this exclusive DLC.
– LittleBigPlanet 3
One of the most beloved Sony franchises, LBP is back and looks gorgeous. The game will include backward compatibility for existing user creations in LBP and LBP2 when it arrives this November.
– BloodBorne
Another PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne comes from Japanese developer FromSoftware. Face your fears as you search for answers in the ancient city of Yharnam, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire. Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive.
– Far Cry 4
We already knew about Far Cry 4, but now we got to see some gameplay footage as well. The big news for Sony is that, if you own the game on the PS4 or PS3, you will be able to invite friends to play even if they don’t own the game, which is pretty cool.

– Disney Infinity 2 : Collector’s Edition
– Broforce / Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number / Not a Hero / Titan Souls / The Talos Principle
– Magicka 2
– Grim Fandango
Bold for emphasis. Need I say more? One of the best adventures of all time is coming to the PS4 and the PS Vita.

Titles such as Planetside 2, Kingdom under Fire 2, My Singing Monsters, Loadout and others will make their appearance.
– Playstation Now
Starting July 31, Sony will introduce an open beta where gamers located in supported areas will be able to rent over a hundred PS3 titles, with the lineup including titles such as MGSV: Ground Zeroes, God of War Ascension, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and more.
– Playstation TV
Will have the following:
- Pair with a PS4 to stream PS4 games to another TV in the house
- Set-top box features like the PS4′s lineup of streaming video and music apps
- Stream games with PlayStation Now
- Natively plays PS1, PSP classic, and PS Vita games (with the understandable limitation on those that require extensive touch interfacing)
he microconsole will retail for $99 and will launch alongside a $139 bundle which includes a PS3 controller, 8GB microSD card, an HDMI cable, and the Lego Movie game. So now, without paying $400, gamers can get at an already enormous library of games stretching over the past 15 years, as well as classics that have not yet been re-released, AND any games that may come to PlayStation Now.
– Mortal Kombat X
New gameplay trailer. Can’t wait.
– Last of Us : Remastered
A new remastered edition, so if you didn’t play it the first time, now’s your chance.
– Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain
It’s the Playstation, so it needs an MGS title. Here’s a new trailer.
– Grand Theft Auto V
Again, bold for emphasis. The game is out on September for all major next-gen platforms, including the Xbox One and yes. The PC. Finally. Thank you.
– Batman : Arkham Knight
The PS4 will have exclusive Scarecrow Nightmare missions, and the guys at Sony showed us a new gameplay trailer.
– Uncharted 4 : A Thief’s End
Last but not least, one of the most famous Playstation franchises. The next installment of Uncharted will arrive in 2015 and it looks very promising. According to the official description, “Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”
