Half Life 3 confirmed! Sort of…

It’s actually the longest running joke in the history of gaming; Valve’s secrecy and the iconic status of the game ensure hours of fun speculation and finding clues where there aren’t any. Well, this time it was actually confirmed (read: not announced) by Minh “Gooseman” Le who is a former Valve employee that worked on Counter-Strike. Here’s what he had to say:

I don’t think I can talk about that, to be honest, but I think it’s kind of public knowledge, that people know that it’s been worked on. I guess I could say that I did see something that looked kinda like in the Half Life universe. And I mean it wouldn’t surprise anyone if I said they’re doing it, they’re working on it, yeah. So to go on a limb I’d say I did see some concept art for Half Life 3.

Le also had some enthusiastic words to say about an upcoming Left for Dead 3, saying it was in very good shape. So it seems our friends at Valve are hard at work; hopefully we’ll see something soon, where soon means in the next millennium.
